What we collect and why
When you place an order or create an account, we collect your name, email address, postal address, and telephone number. We use this information to fulfil your order, contact you about delivery, and keep a record of your purchase history. The legal basis for this processing is the performance of a contract (your order) and our legitimate interest in running the business.
If you contact us by email or phone, we may keep a record of that correspondence.
Marketing
When you order from us, you are added to our mailing list. You will only ever receive communication from Pottertons Nursery. We will never sell, trade, or share your personal details with any third party. If you wish to opt out of marketing communications, please make a note on your order or contact the nursery.
Payment details
All online card payments are handled by WorldPay. We pass your name and address to WorldPay when we transfer you to their secure payment page. Pottertons Nursery never sees, receives, or stores any of your card details.

Third parties
We share data with the following third parties, solely to operate the website and fulfil orders:
- WorldPay receives your name and address to process card payments.
- PostHog receives anonymised usage data (page views, button clicks) to help us understand how visitors use the site. Data is hosted in the EU. PostHog is only activated if you accept non-essential cookies. No personal data is shared.
- Google reCAPTCHA is used on the account registration page to prevent automated sign-ups. Google may collect usage data as part of this service.
- Google Maps is embedded on our directions page to show the nursery location. Google may set its own cookies when the map loads.
We do not sell, rent, or otherwise share your personal data with any other third party.
How long we keep your data
We retain order records and account information for as long as is necessary to fulfil our legal and business obligations, including tax record-keeping requirements. If you ask us to delete your account, we will remove your personal details but may retain anonymised order records where required by law.
