Valuable rockery plants as they love the sun and will grow in any ordinary well drained soil. Plus their flowering season is later than most alpines, June through till August.
(syn. Shell Pink ) Few only. A busy little plant, with a slightly open lax habit, long flowering with 12cm sprays of pale pink flowers in profusion. I still remember the late nurseryman Joe Elliott pressing our original plant into my fathers hands at a Chelsea Flower some 20 years ago with instructions to aid its continuity - a gift from one great plantsman to another. The progeny of both man and plant continue.
