A hardy perennial with a shallow, rhizomatous root system. Requires partial shade and humus rich soil for best results, in a soil that remains free draining and never becomes waterlogged. Spring flowering, dormant in winter. Plant the rhizomes horizontally, no more than 7cm deep.
