Sternbergia lutea

Flowers similar to a large Crocus, golden-yellow with a satin sheen, 10cm from September to early November, glossy green leaves. Bold & beautiful. These autumn flowering bulbs would like a warm, sunny south facing aspect in rich well drained soil. Hardy.

Sternbergia sicula

A fine dwarf plant, much smaller than S. lutea but with equally large golden-yellow flowers which are often produced in great abundance in September to October. Pot culture or in a warm sheltered site in the garden.
